Pies are eaten as snacks, as main courses and as desserts. They seem to be eaten any time of the day!

Pies come in all sorts of sizes and shapes. Some have exotic names others local names. A pie is usually described as having a top and bottom made of pastry.

One pie that is often eaten at Christmas is the pork pie. For me it is a diabolical food. If offered a pork pie I generally refuse. Politely of course. The pork pie has also lent its name to a hat.

It was also in England that I came across the cream pie  Here I mean the innocent cream pie.The cream pie is used by clowns and others trying to be funny.

Basically it is a pie looking shape over flowing with shaving cream. It is often used in slapstick comedy!
