Gaping Holes???

Now usually if you find a hole you fill it. You find a hole in one of your teeth you have a filling. You find a hole in a skirt you sew it etc etc. Holes in the road should be filled but are often left to the annoyance of drivers. Anyhow, you get my drift! A hole is usually filled.

So it comes as a bit of a surprise that some men like to make a hole bigger. There are tons of web sites devoted to making holes twice or three times the size. And I am talking about GAPING HOLES.

A gaping hole is a large often spectacular hole. Whereas to gape is to look at with curiousity. So you have both words active when looking at pics like the one below.
