Although it was Christmas Eve Webenezer took herself off to bed early. She had no desire to waste money on lighting up her home so thought bed and sleep was the cheaper alternative.
As her head touched the pillow she sank into a deep sleep and her snores could be heard in the street below.
Suddenly, however, her deep sleep was broken by a rattle of keys and the sound of chains. She sat up abruptly and rubbed her eyes.
'Who is there?' she called
There came no reply.
Then suddenly before her was a most beautiful woman dressed in a provocative outfit.
'Who are you?' she screeched.
'I am the ghost of sexy costumes' came an eerie response.
'Get out, get out!' Webenezer screamed, 'what need have I of sexy costumes?'
'Ah, Webenezer, we all have need of feeling sexy. We all like to dress up and play sexual games'
'Not me!' Webenezer called. 'Not me, begone with you.'
With this the apparition suddenly disappeared and Webenezer was left wondering whether she was dreaming or going mad.
She looked around the room and then decided to try to sleep. Within a few minutes she was snoring away.
